Saint Fevronia, whose memory is celebrated on 25th June.
Fevronia was a sought-after nymph for her beauty, but at the age of 17 she chose the path of training and temperance in the monastery with her aunt. Despite her young age, she quickly adapted to the difficult rules of the solitary life, while also finding time to study and delve into the Holy Scriptures. She became an example among the other nuns for her prudence, her zeal, her willingness and her humble attitude.
One day, a military body, which was persecuting Christians led by Selenos, also arrived at the monastery of Fevronia. The other nuns managed to escape, but Fevronia, who was ill, could not move. Abbess Bryeni and sister Thomais remained close to her, who met a martyr's death.
