Saint Philip the Apostle's Feast Day is November 14
The Lord found Philip in Galilee, after His baptism, and urged him to follow Him. He wasted no time and immediately followed the Lord and became His disciple.
When the divine Apostles cast lots among themselves as to where each would go to preach the Gospel of salvation, Philip was cast to preach in the countries of Asia. In his preaching, the glorious apostle Philip had the apostle Bartholomew as his companion and close associate.
So Philip with Bartholomew and his sister Mariamne preached the Gospel in the cities of Mysia and Lydia in Asia Minor. During their preaching work they suffered many temptations and many sorrows from the pagans: They were flogged, beaten with rods, imprisoned, and stoned.
In Asia Minor where these holy Apostles preached, they also found the Lord's beloved disciple, John the Theologian, preaching the Gospel of salvation.
